Kobu's Today screen: Kobu's call for the day, weekly volume, the next session and recovery

Kobu's call

One line that reads your whole week.

Kobu weighs your heart rate variability and resting heart rate from Apple Health, your training load and the muscles still recovering. Then it says it plainly: push, go lighter, or rest.

Not feeling it? Ask Kobu to go lighter and it trims today's session for you. It never changes your plan without asking.

Plan

A plan that bends without breaking.

Build a routine, run a programme week by week, or just type what you want: "push, pull and legs, four days". Kobu drafts it, fitted to the kit you own.

  • Progression that thinks. Linear, double and triple progression, Greyskull, 5/3/1 waves or Adaptive. Kobu sets the next target and shows why.
  • Your bar, your plates. Tell Kobu what's in your gym and every weight it suggests is one you can load, with the plates drawn for you.
  • Life happens. Move Tuesday's session to today and the week keeps its shape. Undo is always one tap away.
  • Your sport counts. Log practice for track, swimming, rowing, cycling or your team sport beside the gym, and Kobu counts it in your week.

In the session

Built for the middle of a set.

Big targets, last time's numbers beside every set, and a rest timer that flashes the screen and lowers your music when it's time to go.

  • Supersets
  • Drop sets
  • Rest-pause
  • Timed holds
  • Per-side reps
  • Pyramids
  • Warm-up ramps
  • Assisted machines
  • Weighted bodyweight
  • RPE and RIR

2,130 exercises with step-by-step instructions, a quick swap to anything that hits the same muscle, and your own custom moves with a photo or clip. The screen stays awake, and a Live Activity keeps your rest on the Lock Screen.

A live push session: bench press and overhead press sets with last time's weights beside each

Apple Watch

Leave the phone in your bag.

Lift, run, race

One week, every kind of work.

Kobu counts runs, rides and rows in the same training load as your lifting, so the call it makes is about all of you.

Runs and rides with GPS

Pace, distance and splits, with a Live Activity on the Lock Screen. Workouts from other apps in Apple Health fill in planned cardio days on their own.

HYROX, station by station

Run full race simulations and see your best total and your best split for every station, so you know where the time goes.

Your sport's own days

Log a practice in a few taps. Sport programmes for track, swimming and rowing build the gym week around it.

Progress

Progress you can read at a glance.

Weekly volume, sessions against your goal, a year of consistency on one heatmap, and every personal record the moment you set it.

  • Estimated 1RM, your formula. Epley, Brzycki and more, with a line for every set so you can see the top set and the back-offs move.
  • Strength balance. Your lifts compared with each other, so a lagging pull or a weak hinge shows up early.
  • Muscles, not just lifts. A body map of hard sets per muscle, what's recovered and what you haven't trained.
  • Effort. RPE or RIR on any set, and a trend that shows whether the work is getting easier.
Trends: weekly volume and workouts per week against a goal of four
Profile: a year of workouts on a heatmap and a six-week streak

Health

Food, without the homework.

Scan a barcode or search, and Kobu tracks calories, protein, carbs and fat against your targets, meal by meal.

  • Body weight with a goal. Weigh in and see the trend against the weight you're aiming for.
  • Progress photos that stay put. They never leave your iPhone, and Kobu strips their location before saving them.
